NE Revolution 1-0 New York City FC: Lee Nguyen scores winner to end losing streak
Lee Nguyen’s 12th minute goal halted New England Revolution’s five-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over New York City FC.
Frank Lampard is still waiting for his debut after failing to recover from injury.
Lee Nguyen was the hero for New England Revolution after scoring the only goal in the 1-0 win over New York City FC.
The Revs were on a five-match losing streak heading into the game and New York were in fine form with three straight away wins.
But the hosts put the poor form behind them with a cracking goal just 12 minutes in.
Daigo Kobayashi’s brilliant back-heel found Diego Fagundez, who then smartly picked out Nguyen with a first-time pass.
The 28-year-old then calmly cut in and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper in the far post.
New York City FC’s Ned Grabavoy was then sent off in the 55th minute, making it an easy win for the Revs.
