2012 London Olympics – Track and Field: China’s other hurdler

With Gold medal favorite Liu Xiang unfortunately injured in his 110m heat, China’s hopes for a medal in the hurdles turned to countrymen Xie Wenjun and Shi Dongpeng.

Shi Dongpeng ran a time of 13.78 seconds and did not qualify out of his heat.  Whereas, Xie Wenjun ran 13.43 seconds in his heat and qualified for the semi-finals.  However, Xie did not qualify for the final 8 runners, where Liu Xiang was expected to be at.
