Seattle Mariners Hisashi Iwakuma will be in the starting rotation in the 2nd half of the season

Manager Eric Wedge said that Hisashi Iwakuma would move into the rotation after the break. He’ll be taking the spot that had belonged to Hector Noesi.

“Iwakuma will start after the break,” Wedge said before Kevin Millwood went out and threw seven shutout innings in a 4-1, 11-inning loss in Oakland, “but he’ll be in the bullpen this weekend.”

There isn’t an exact day set for Iwakuma to start, because that will depend on whether the Mariners’ lone All-Star, Felix Hernandez, pitches in the Al-Star Game on Tuesday.
