Anthony Ampaipitakwong will sign for Thai team Buriram United once his registration goes through. He has already passed a medical at Bangkok Hospital.  Now the 23-year-old will return to the United States to process his registration.

“I’m very exciting and really keen to play for such an illustrious club,” Ampaipitakwong said. “Buriram’s supporters are fantastic as I saw in the latest game [against Meungthong United] which makes me want to help them win more and more titles.”

The Thunder Castle won a treble in 2011, including the Thai Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. No other Thai club has won all three trophies in a season. “Anthony will provides us more options,” Buriram coach Atthaphol Puspakom said. “His experience in MLS will be a benefit for this team to defend all the titles we hold this season.”

The former Akron Zips midfielder was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in 2011. However, he started five games (12 total appearances) in his rookie season. The former U.S. youth international hasn’t played at all this season.
