Allan Park Laviolette (4 goals, 3 assists, 356 receiving yards, 456 total yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Raleigh Flyers beat Atlanta Hustle
Allan Laviolette is having his most productive season yet. With 15 seconds left in the first quarter. Yanuck hammered out of the double team, got the disc back on a swing, and found Allan Laviolette on a loopy flick to the front cone with just a few seconds left to bring the game within one. Laviolette carved out tons of space in the midfield, finishing with three assists and four goals. With the win, Raleigh moves ahead of Atlanta into the three seed in the Atlantic standings.

More often than not, the sequel is never as good as the original. Thankfully, Raleigh Flyers vs. New York Empire Part II delivered on all the hype and then some. It was a game of massive momentum swings, incredible offensive displays and clutch performances. In the end, New York topped Raleigh 24-23 in double overtime. Laviolette did most of his damage in the first three quarters.
Tim Okita (1 goal, 4 assists)
Stats Highlights Full Game San Diego Growlers beat Los Angeles Aviators
While the same could surely be said about plenty of other San Diego Growlers players, Tim Okita likes playing LA. Okita has totaled five-plus scores three times this season; each time has been against the Aviators. A backfield rock over the last two seasons with San Diego, Okita has completed over 98 percent of his throws in the regular season dating back to the start of 2019. Against LA alone this year, he has just one throwaway, having completed 119-of-120 throws across the three games. Okita excels at initiating the Growlers offense with small ball movement and sure throws to initiating cutters. He didn’t miss a beat last week despite the Growlers missing the majority of their starting O-line, completing all 34 of his throws while tossing four assists.
Mike Lee (1 goal, 5 assists)
Stats Highlights Full Game Ottawa Outlaws vs Montreal Royal
Lee has transform from a goal-scoring cutter to a playmaking hybrid player throwing assists for goals. In his two games so far this season, Lee has thrown 10 assists.
Week 9 (Jul 30-Aug 1)
Calvin Brown (1 goal, 3 assists, 5 blocks, 464 throwing yards) & KJ Koo (2 goals, 4 assists, +9),
Stats Highlights Full Game Los Angeles Aviators beats Seattle Cascades
Since Calvin Brown moved over to the Aviators’ D-line, Los Angeles has gone 3-0, sweeping their road doubleheader in Week 8 before delivering another strong performance against Seattle at home in Week 9. In Sunday’s 20-15 triumph over the Cascades, Brown erupted for a career-best five blocks—he had just seven previous blocks in his first 12 AUDL games—while also dishing for 464 throwing yards and three assists as the Aviators recorded 10 breaks in the game, three more than the team’s previous high this year. Currently, the Raleigh Flyers and Atlanta Hustle are the only two teams in the league who have longer winning streaks than the Aviators.
KJ Koo, college teammate of Calvin Brown at Cal Poly and on playing the same D-line, had perhaps his most productive game so far this season. Koo threw 4 assists and had three blocks for a +/- rating of +9.
Allan Laviolette (4 goals, 7 assists, 557 total yards),
Stats Highlights Full Game Raleigh Flyers beats Pittsburgh Thunderbirds
One of several hybrid cutters in the red hot Raleigh Flyers offense, Allan Laviolette has been on a tear throughout the Flyers’ six-game win streak. Laviolette came into last weekend’s game against Pittsburgh with 290-plus yards of offense in four straight games, with 21 scores in that span. It all led up to his best game of the season, where Laviolette racked up 11 total scores—seven assists and four goals—and 550 yards of offense against the Thunderbirds, carving up the defense all night on just 24 touches. Working in tandem with one of the league’s best cutting cores featuring Henry Fisher, Jacob Fairfax, and Anders Juengst, Laviolette has thrived having consistent downfield targets that allow him to maximize his impact as a thrower. Raleigh is sure to be tested this weekend in a tough double header road trip, but if Laviolette and the offense can maintain their rhythm, there’s little opponents can do to stop the highest scoring team in the league.
Matt Smith (5 goals, 2 assists, 8 hockey assists, 271 receiving yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Atlanta Hustle beats Pittsburgh Thunderbirds
One of the league’s career leaders in goals scored. Matt Smith had his highest goal scoring game of the season against Pittsburgh. Smith will finish 2021 with his 7th career 20+ goal scoring season.
Week 8 (Jul 23-25)
Antoine Davis (6 goals, 3 assists)
Stats Highlights Full Game Atlanta Hustle beats New York Empire
A couple weeks ago, after the Hustle lost at home against DC, Davis said he and his teammates were busy ‘formulating a response that everyone is going to want to see.’ Message sent and received, as Davis enjoyed far and away his best game of the season as the Hustle outlasted the Empire 22-21. He set the tone by scoring half of his game-high six goals in the first quarter, while also dishing three assists and completing all 19 of his throws, seven of which were hockey assists. His 408 receiving yards were 143 more than the next highest total on his team, and the Hustle enter Week 9 as the only one-loss team in the entire league (obviously not including the three Canadian organizations).
Mike Lee (1 Goal, 5 assists, 351 total yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Ottawa Outlaws beat Montreal Royal
The Ottawa Outlaws were arguably an even unlikelier candidate to earn two wins this past weekend, but in the first Canadian Cup contests of the summer, the Outlaws, a team that has gone 8-32 in their past three seasons, beat Toronto at home and Montreal on the road, sending shockwaves from Nova Scotia to the Yukon with their expectation shattering victories. Former 60-goal scorer in 2016. Mike Lee is back in 2021 as a hybrid cutter throwing goals. Lee helped Ottawa pull the upset in Montreal with a 26-19 win.

Mark Lin (1 goals, 3 assist, 315 throwing yards, 17 completions)
Stats Highlights Full Game San Jose Spiders vs Dallas Roughnecks
On offense, the Spiders were aggressive in stretching the field deep, leading to some quick holds. In a game of hucks, two deep cutters stood out. Armour and San Jose’s Sawyer Thompson each tallied five goals. Mark Lin threw for 315 yards in just 17 completions.
Week 6 (Jul 9-11)

Stats Highlights Full Game Madison Radicals beats Chicago Union
When maintaining possession was of the utmost importance against Chicago’s comeback pressure, Luo’s poise and patience helped carry Madison to a potentially season-saving victory on Saturday night. The sure-handed lefty completed all 51 of his passes while leading the Radicals in throwing yards and total yards against the Union, who experienced defeat for the first time all season against Madison. Whereas the Rads’ O-line was broken six times a week earlier in Chicago, Luo and company cut that number in half in the rematch, a critical step in keeping their postseason hopes alive.
Week 5 (Jul 2-3)
Victor Luo (3 assists, 324 throwing yards, 481 total yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Madison Radicals vs Chicago Union
After playing primarily on the D-line for the first three years of his Madison Radicals career, Victor Luo made the switch to offense this season and has been an anchor in the Radicals backfield. He ranks second on the team in throwing yards (2,391), total yards (3,690), and assists (25), while leading the team in completions with 389 at a 97.3 percent rate. Of the top 20 league leaders in throwing yards, Luo boasts the second highest completion percentage; he showcases weekly an ability to consistently distribute high-percentage throws downfield while remaining a rock in the backfield.
Week 4 (Jun 25-27)
Antoine Davis (4 goals, 3 assists, 339 receiving yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Atlanta Hustle beats Philadelphia Phoenix

Victor Luo (1 goal, 6 assists)
Stats Highlights Full Game Madison Radicals beat Detroit Mechanix
Victor Luo, Sterling Knoche, and David Nester were the top offensive performers, with three of the team’s top yardage lines but nary a turnover between them. Luo added six assists and a goal.
Week 3 (Jun 18-20)
Allan Park Laviolette (5 goals, 3 assists)
Stats Highlights Full Game Raleigh Flyers beat Boston Glory
Raleigh lost their first two games of the season and needed to win this game to keep their season hopes alive. Allan Laviolette delivered a win for Raleigh with a massively productive game. “We were winning the energy battle in the first quarter, but slowly let Boston take control of the energy by halftime. I think our adjustment was not to play with urgency, but to play with confidence” said Raleigh’s Allan Laviolette.
Michael Tran (1 goal, 3 assists, 3 blocks)
Stats Highlights Full Game San Diego Growlers beat Seattle Cascades
Michael Tran was vital for San Diego, throwing three assists and snagging three blocks as well. Michael Tran ran a fundamentally sound end zone set, swinging the disc through some throw-and-gos to find an opening. As the Seattle defense cascaded to the open side, Tran found an unmarked Will Turner on the break side to tie the game at 15 with 34 seconds left.
Week 2 (Jun 11-13)
Calvin Brown (2 goals, 5 assists, 350 throwing yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Los Angeles Aviators beats San Diego Growlers
Calvin Brown has come out firing in 2021, building on a solid 2019 rookie campaign where he totaled 22 scores and recorded three blocks in six games. With a relatively depleted roster from years past, Calvin has taken it upon himself to facilitate the Los Angeles Aviators offense, averaging over 50 completions (up from 25.3 in 2019) and 4.5 assists per contest. The 20-year-old is in clear command of the offense and has an incredibly high ceiling, but—to quote the late Uncle Ben, specifically the one from “Spider-man” (2002) a.k.a. the best Spiderman movie released this century—with great power, comes great responsibility. Brown has seen his completion percentage dip from 95.6 percent in 2019 to 88.1 percent thus far in 2021, already exceeding his total throwaways from last season. He and the rest of the Aviators offense are going to have to take care of the disc in a big rematch vs. Dallas; if Brown can limit turnovers while maintaining the confidence and aggressiveness to get the disc downfield, LA could be in position for a shocking upset.
Week 1 (Jun 4-6)
Matt Smith (4 goals, 1 assist, 327 receiving yards)
Stats Highlights Full Game Atlanta Hustle beats Raleigh Flyers
The league’s third all-time leading goal scorer was clutch in Atlanta’s Week 1 overtime win. The guy who epitomizes “Hustle,” franchise staple Matt Smith led the way with a game-high four goals, including a pair of posterizing skies. He also threw the game-winning assist with 45 seconds left in the game, flipping a cheeky scoober over the mark to put the Hustle up 19-18. The four goals comfortably topped his 2.5 goals per game average from the prior two seasons, as he enters the 2021 season on a rejuvenated Hustle team with what is likely their most talented roster to date. With impressive small-space cutting ability and the speed to stretch the field, Smith thrives on this Hustle O-line that moves the disc quickly and efficiently between a multitude of hybrids.
Tim Okita (2 goals, 4 assists, 49 completions, 100% completion rate)
Stats Highlights Full Game San Diego Growlers beat Los Angeles Aviators
San Diego took care of business in its opening game against SoCal rival Los Angeles. Tim Okita, the “quarterback” for the Growlers, played his usual steady and efficient passing. Okita threw 49 passes without a single throwaway. He finished the game with 4 assists.
