SBI MLS Player of the Month: Lee Nguyen

The New England Revolution spent the month of May running rampant through any opposition in their path, scoring 14 goals in a streak of four games that catapulted the team to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Revs offensive outburst showed exactly what it looks like when a team clicks, but the creativity and flair of the team are defined by midfielder Lee Nguyen.

Nguyen may not have the stats to go head-to-head with some of the league’s elite, but there are few players more instrumental to their team’s success than the 27-year-old midfielder. Nguyen is constantly demonstrating his value as the catalyst of a now-potent Revolution attack, displaying the creativity and calmness on the ball to spring many a Revs offensive opportunity.

Nguyen’s contributions have helped lead the Revs to the top of the Eastern table and earned him recognition for his play as May’s SBI MLS Player of the Month.Nguyen beat out Sporting KC’s Dom Dwyer, Real Salt Lake’s Javier Morales, and New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips for this month’s honors.
