Ichiro Suzuki hit a two-run homer off the Tigers‘ Jose Valverde in the ninth inning on Saturday, leading what would be a four-run rally to tie Game 1 of the ALCS.

Suzuki finished the night 4-for-6, and is now 9-for-29 (.310) with five RBI in the postseason. Russell Martin singled to lead off the ninth, then Suzuki lined a Valverde fastball for a no-doubter into the seats in right, pulling the Yankees to within 4-2 and setting the stage for Raul Ibanez’s dramatics. But the Tigers would eventually win it in the 12th.
