Super Bowl 2022 was a life-changing event for Taylor Rapp in more ways than one.
The 24-year-old safety not only won his first Super Bowl title in Feb. 2022, when the Rams defeated the Bengals, 23-20, but he also proposed to girlfriend Dani Johnson as the postgame celebrations continued.
With wedding planning now on the agenda for the offseason, let’s take a look at Rapp and Johnson’s years-long romance.
Young love
Rapp and Johnson have been dating since high school, according to USA Today. Rapp, who was originally born in Atlanta, later moved to Bellingham, Washington, and played football at Sehome High School. He enrolled at the University of Washington in early 2016, while Johnson attended Southern Oregon University and played volleyball.
Celebrating milestones
Johnson and Rapp celebrated their four-year dating anniversary in Nov. 2018, two months before the future Ram officially declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.
“4 years feels like nothing when you’re constantly thinking about forever…Happy anniversary, I love you,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
Rapp soon replied to Johnson’s message, posting: “This is a forever thing.. Love you Dannooo.”
In April 2019, Rapp officially became a member of the Rams after the team selected him in the second round of the draft with the 61st overall pick.
“We’re goin to LA baby!!! Let’s do this @rams,” Johnson gushed.
Rapp signed a four-year, $4.6 million contract with the Rams, per Spotrac, with $2.1 million guaranteed.
Extending their family
In Dec. 2020, Rapp and Johnson announced they had adopted a new pup named Ollie, who was rescued in China. In an Instagram post chronicling Ollie’s arrival, Johnson said the couple “couldn’t be any happier” to become fur parents.
Forever has a nice ring to it
In addition to getting his own Super Bowl hardware, Rapp presented Johnson with a ring of her own.
And while the couple’s engagement was one of the biggest moments to come out of Super Bowl 2022, they aren’t the only members of the Ram-ily who had a life-altering night.
