San Francisco Signs High Schooler and USA U20 player Colby Chuck
|The San Francisco Dogfish continued to announce player signings today, adding rookie handlers Colby Chuck and Jason Edelman to their roster for the upcoming 2016 MLU season. These two signings mark the 8th and 9th players added to the Dogfish roster since the naming of Jason Seidler as Head Coach.
Chuck (5′, 129lbs) is a rookie and one of the youngest player in the league. A senior at Berkeley High School, Chuck represents the next generation of ultimate players. Playing ultimate from an early age with the goal to play in college and beyond, Chuck will bring a nice surge of energy to the older Dogfish roster.
A native of Berkeley, Chuck was a practice player for the Dogfish in 2015, helping to prepare the team for games and working on his own development as a player. The veteran mentoring Chuck received as a practice player in 2015 may have paid off, as he was named to USA Ultimate’s U20 Team that will compete in Poland this August.
“I’m excited to play for the Dogfish this season because I believe that I will be able to improve my game by learning a lot from the amazing coaching staff and veterans on the team.” said Chuck, “I also think the high level play in the MLU will help me prepare for the Junior Worlds this coming summer.”
