Its Official! PG Joseph Lin signs 2-year contract. The Lins becomes first Asian family with 2 Professional Ballers
|Palo Alto grad Joseph Lin, who played basketball at Hamilton College, signed a two-year deal to play for the Fubon Braves in Taiwan’s Super Basketball League. Jeremy Lin also graduated from Palo Alto Highschool.
The SBL is the top-tier men’s semi-professional basketball league in Taiwan. Joseph will wear #1. Braves general manager Chris Tsai said that Lin is expected to join team practice later in August.
The SBL is a 7 team league. The Fubon Braves was an expansion team in 2014.
Joseph Lin was voted second team NESCAC All-Conference. He led the league in assists and earned conference Player of the Week honors during the season following a team record 16-assist game.
Lin, who finished his Hamilton career with 617 points, 291 assists and 85 steals, averaged 6.4 assists per game as a senior, ranked second in the conference with 1.8 steals per game and 12th with 13.5 points.
He was even better in NESCAC games as he ranked fifth with 15.0 points per game, a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio and a free-throw percentage of 85.2 percent against conference opponents.
“Our coaching staff think Joseph Lin is a smart player who learns things very quickly,” Tsai said. “He also has great shooting touch and a positive attitude; all of these are perfect traits for a point guard.”
Steph Curry and Seth Curry are brothers who are currently professional basketball players.
