Lee Nguyen returns home, meets FC Dallas on Saturday
|For just the second time in his MLS career, Plano East alum Lee Nguyen will return to his old stomping grounds.
The former Panther will be in town this weekend when the New England Revolution visit FC Dallas at 8 p.m. Saturday at Toyota Stadium.
Currently in his third year with the Revolution, Nguyen is well on his way to posting the best season of his young MLS career. The midfielder has already tallied a career-best and team-high six goals, despite already having taken 18 fewer shots than he did during his 2012-13 campaign.
While at East, Nguyen strung together a storied high school career that included being named the National Gatorade Boys Soccer High School Player of the Year and appearances on the U18 and U20 U.S. national teams.
Although success has gone hand in hand with Nguyen throughout his career, he and the Revolution are looking to snap a five-match losing streak that has dipped the club to 7-9-2 (23 points) and fourth in the Eastern Conference.
They’ll meet an FC Dallas side that currently sits in fifth place in the Western Conference at 7-7-5. Overall, Nguyen is 0-2 against FC Dallas.
