Kensuke Tanaka to make his MLB debut for the San Francisco Giants today
|San Francisco Giants 2B Kensuke Tanaka, who played nine games in the outfield with Triple-A Fresno, is expected to be used some in the outfield, and he also might be asked to serve as the leadoff hitter to get the offense going. OF Jeff Francoeur will report to Fresno, but he could come up soon and be another option in left after the All-Star break. Tanaka hit .330 with a .392 on-base percentage at Fresno.
UPDATE: In his first game, Kensuke Tanaka made a highlight-reel catch over the wall to rob the batter of a homerun.
