Shin-Soo Choo keeps up scorching spring with new team | reds.com: News
|GLENDALE, Ariz. — Shin-Soo Choo went 4-for-4 in the Reds’ 7-3 win over the White Sox on Sunday. In addition to raising his Spring Training batting average to .421, Choo has now hit safely in five of the eight games he has played.
Choo, who was acquired by the Reds in an offseason trade, has not taken a long time to acclimate or make a strong impression on manager Dusty Baker.
“Choo can play,” Baker said. “He’s not doing anything that surprises me. That’s why we traded for Choo.”
In addition to his four hits, Choo also stole two bases Sunday. For as strong as the left-handed center fielder is playing, it is also important to remember there are still three weeks until Opening Day.
“Choo’s only going to get better,” Baker said.
