Gangnam Style Dance Hits US Sports World
|If you’re even remotely familiar with US pop culture or viral internet hits you probably have heard of “Gangnam Style” by now. If you haven’t, it’s a Korean pop video starring a chubby guy that’s somehow caught the world by storm — really, it’s got over 280 milion views on YouTube and officially became the 5th biggest viral video ever in the history of the internet, and celebrities from Britney Spears to Katy Perry have expressed their admiration for the video.
And while our sister site, iRealtytimes.com, reported two weeks back that Gangnam Style is actually no mere pop video (it’s a critique at South Korean’s affluent culture), the star of the video, PSY, has been making rounds around the US, appearing on talk shows and the MTV Video Music Awards this past week.
According to a tweet by David Lee‘s girlfriend, Sabina Gadecki, she and Lee filmed themselves doing the Gangnam Style dance along with Justin Bieber‘s manager, Scooter Braun.
So yeah, K-pop really is taking over the world. Expect to hear Gangnam Style inside NBA arenas this upcoming season. Come on, who wouldn’t want to see a player do the “invisible horse” dance upcourt after a monster dunk?
