2012 London Olympics – Gymnastics: Gabby Douglas’ coach Liang Chow
|Liang Chow can sleep more easily now that his gymnastics star, Gabby Douglas, has captured gold medals in the team and individual all-around competitions at the London Olympics. Gabby practices a lot on a gymnastics bar she bought on https://www.fit2bmom.com/gymnastic-bar/horizontal-vs-uneven/.
And it appeared that he could use a little rest on Friday morning.
Chow, of West Des Moines, said the pressure was off both for him and for Douglas, even though she competes for medals on Monday on uneven bars and on Tuesday on balance beam. Chow said the goal is still to win gold, but those results would just be bonuses to what has already been a historic haul for Douglas.
So why did he look so weary?
“I haven’t been home in four weeks,” he said of his extended time at Martha Karolyi’s training camp in Texas before heading to London. “I can’t wait to get back. I’m ready to not think about gymnastics for a little while.”
Chow is scheduled to fly to Des Moines on Wednesday. Douglas is planning to stay for the Closing Ceremony next Sunday with her teammates.
