RW Brandon Yip re-signs with Nashville Predators
|The Nashville Predators have re-signed forward, Brandon Yip to a one year (one-way) deal worth $750,000. Brandon Yip takes a pay raise of $25,000 this coming season. Yip was prepared to go to the free agent market July 1 as a unrestricted free agent. Instead, he will be staying a Predators for a little bit longer.
Brandon Yip is a good role player on the team and plays “Predator hockey”. Also, Yip has a fourth line duty that he plays well in. Barry Trotz is a big fan of Yip’s play and he probably tried hard to get David Poile to re-sign him.
A good signing by Poile to keep Yip on the Nashville roster for next season. Although, unfortunately, this signing pretty much means the end of Jordin Tootoo with the Nashville Predators. It sucks, but this is business. The fan favorite isn’t always the best option in winning the Stanley Cup.
