Kurt Suzuki batting ninth due to sore left hand

Kurt Suzuki has been dropped to ninth in the A’s lineup on Saturday due to a sore left hand.

The injury impacts Suzuki most when swinging the bat, so Oakland manager Bob Melvin wants to limit his plate appearances as much as possible while still keeping him active. If the hand soreness lingers, the 28-year-old catcher may need some time off early next week.
