Ikuhisa Minowa brings cape, flair to ProElite against Kendall Grove
|Japanese fighting icon Ikuhisa Minowa has proven he can play the role of superhero in bouts with oversized foes. Now he has to show he can still win conventional ones against men his own size.
“I think that America is the entertainment capital of the world,” says Minowa, slated to make his U.S. debut this weekend. “Being a fighter, as well as entertainer, I would like to test my skill here.”
He’ll get that chance this weekend at ProElite’s show Saturday (10 p.m. ET, HDNet) in Honolulu, where he will face Hawaiian middleweight Kendall Grove, a veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
