Pick #43. Houston Rockets – Zhou Qi, center, China
Analysis: For much of the last year, Zhou Qi was projected to be a 1st round draft pick. Had Qi been selected in the first round he would have likely made the move the to the states. The 7-foot-2 forward from China will stay overseas this season, but — with three-point shooting ability and shot-blocking prowess — he has plenty of upside as a draft-and-stash guy. If he adds some strength, he could make an impact sooner rather than later.
Pick #57. Memphis Grizzlies – Wang Zhelin, center, China
Analysis: Not too many people expected Wang Zhelin to be drafted into the NBA after an injury plagued season last year. However, Wang did have several good seasons for his CBA team until last year. Zhelin stands at 7-0, 250 pounds and has legs built like Yao Ming that allows him to play in the post.
