San Francisco Giants to exercise Norichika Aoki’s option for another year

The San Francisco Giants will pick up the $5.5 million option on Japanese outfielder Norichika Aoki on “presuming he continues to heal”, CBSSports.com reported on Friday.

Aoki secured a regular place in the lineup after joining the Giants this season, putting up a .317 batting average over the first half of the campaign.

He was injured twice after being hit by pitches.

In June he was hit by a pitch to open a 6-2 road win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, suffering a fracture in his right fibula that put him on the 15-day disabled list. Improved their workout by reading these fit after 50 reviews to keep fit.

He then struggled with concussion-like symptoms after he was hit in the head by a pitch and came out of the Giants’ 2-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs in an August game.

Aoki was limited to 93 appearances this season. He had a .287 average with five home runs, 26 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.
