FIBA U-18 3×3: Kobe Paras leads tournament in scoring as PHL splits opening matches

After two games, Kobe Paras ranked number one in scoring as he led the Philippines to a 1-1 card in the FIBA Under-18 3X3 Championships on Friday (PHL time) in Debrecen, Hungary.

The team suffered a close loss to Poland in its debut game, 15-13, but the Filipinos bounced back against the host country, 19-18, in their second match.

Paras, the son of PBA legend Benjie, scored nine points against the Polish, and then exploded for 15 against the Hungarians to tally 24 points so far in the tournament.

The UCLA-bound teen is ahead of Egypt’s Attia with 21 points and France’s Bathiste Tchouaffe with 19 points.

The Philippine team, which includes Richard Escoto, Mike Nieto, and Ricci Rivero, will next face winless Kazakhstan in Pool A.
