Ki Sung-Yueng targeting both personal and team improvement for Swansea – Goal.com

Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung is targeting three points from the visit of newly-promoted Reading to the Liberty Stadium, as the home side look to turn halt a run of three demoralising defeats on the bounce.

Sung-Yeung played the full 90 minutes of his side’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke, where Michael Laudrup’s side never really looked like taking any points.

According to the 23-year-old midfielder, all attention at the club has now turned to Saturday’s showdown with a Reading side who have yet to win in the Premier League so far this season.

“The Reading game is very important for us to change the atmosphere,” Ki told the club’s official website. “We can’t afford to lose our home games.

“We need to win that one to gain confidence. I know we lost against Stoke, but we know what we can do when we are on our game.”

Sung-Yeung signed for Swansea in a record deal for the club from Celtic, until the signing of Pablo Hernandez exceeded Ki’s £5.5 million fee.

The South Korea international, who starred for his country as they secured a bronze medal in the London 2012 Olympics, has been slowly eased into the Swans’ first team due to his summer exertions but says that now he is ready to make an impression on the Premier League.

“I’ve only played four games for Swansea, but I feel I’m getting better and better now that I know the way Swansea play and what I have to do on the pitch,” added Ki.

“I think there’s more and more to come from me. I love this style of football; this is how it should be played, even though sometimes we struggle physically against teams like Stoke.”
