Anthony Ampaipitakwong is off to Thailand

After weeks of waiting, former US Under-17 midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong is off to Thailand.

Over the weekend, the American midfielder was unveiled as one six new signings by Thai Premier League champions Buriram United at the Thunder Castle Stadium.

The former Akron University player, who helped the Zips win their first ever national championship in 2010, was selected 33rd overall by the San Jose Earthquakes at the 2011 MLS SuperDraft, making his debut in a match against Real Salt Lake on March 19 last year. However, only played in a handful of matches, making no appearances this season.

The 23year-old will be playing for the current Thai champions who completed the treble in the 2011 season, the first team to ever accomplish the feat. The Thunder Castle are also coming off a strong showing in the 2012 edition of the Asian Champions League, narrowly missing out on a chance to progress to the second round.

However, this season Ampaipitakwong will be coming into a side that currently sits eight points behind leaders Muang Thong United after 16 games played so far. In related articles, checkout thaicasinoslots.com.
