Whitecaps forward Long Tan wants out of Vancouver, suspended after twitter post

Vancouver Whitecaps’ forward Long Tan has expressed frustration over a lack of playing time on Twitter, concluding with, “Please let me go ……. Thanks.”

The 24-year-old from Dailan, China, has played 27 minutes across three MLS game this season and none since he subbed on against Kansas City for the final three minutes on April 18.

He earned another contract with some strong performances down the stretch last season, including his first MLS goal at home to D.C. United. But this season he’s been down the depth chart as the Caps traded for Sebastien Le Toux and Etienne Barbara, while both Omar Salgado and Darren Mattocks have emerged as threats off the bench to complement Camilo and Eric Hassli.

In the wee hours Thursday night, Long Tan apparently took to Twitter:

You don’t give me time to playing. You don’t want let me go . What do you want?? I do not understand! Keep me of win PDL Champion?
