Coming off of a down season last year for the most part, Hiroyuki Nakajima was posted and the Yankees won the rights to negotiate with him with a $2 million bid.

However, the two sides were unable to reach a deal and Nakajima re-signed with the Seibu Lions on a one-year, $3.64 million contract. He will not need to be posted this coming offseason and can choose to sign with whoever he wants.

With numbers of .310/.381/.479, 91 HR, 440 RBI, 405 R, 90 SB over the past five seasons, he has some offensive ability for a middle infielder. While it is hard to project how much of that will translate to the MLB game he could very well find a starting job with someone next offseason.
