Japanese captain Gavin Prout expected back for Colorado Mammoth could receive offensive boost for postseason opener | National Lacrosse League

Gavin Prout was drafted first overall by the New York Saints in the 2001 National Lacrosse League draft.  As a rookie, Prout was named to the All-Rookie team as a member of the Saints. Since joining the league, Prout has played in six All-Star games.

After missing two games with an unspecified injury, Gavin Prout (22 goals, 61 assists) is expected to be back in the Mammoth lineup if he is to get the best out of his extended lacrosse career.  “We expect Gavin to be in,” Hamley said. “He could have played on Saturday but we held him out and (we’re) looking forward to getting him back in the lineup.”

Hamley added that with Prout back in the lineup, the team will be able to do much more with his presence on the field.  Should Prout be available, he would be back alongside John Grant Jr., who broke the single-season points record last week against the Swarm and finished the season with 116, including a league-best 50 goals.
