Anthony Ampaipitakwong scores goal for San Jose Earthquakes vs Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Vancouver Whitecaps FC scored less than a minute after San Jose found a late equalizer and took a 2-1 decision in MLS Reserve League action at the Earthquakes’ Training Facility. Atiba Harris scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute, having already assisted on a Whitecaps goal in the 38th minute against Quakes goalkeeper David Bingham.

Harris sat out Saturday’s MLS match at Buck Shaw Stadium due to a league-imposed one-match suspension for a foul committed at Philadelphia on March 31. The Vancouver reserves improved to 1-0-1, while the Quakes reserves fell to 1-1. Anthony Ampaipitakwong scored off a rebound in the 77th minute for the Quakes. The match featured Brazilian Sullivan Silva, who is on trial with the Quakes. San Jose won the regular MLS match 3-1.
